This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Classic Small Bayswater Satchel in Oak Natural Vegetable Tanned Leather with Golden Brass Hardware.

The classically styled Small Bayswater Satchel (SBS) was the second incarnation of Mulberrys baby-bayswater. The first was the Ledbury which was made without a shoulder strap, then the SBS was born and it continued to share all the wonderful, heritage charm and features of its larger namesake, but with the addition of the long strap that attached at each side and allowed you to wear on the shoulder or cross body. A reincarnation or two later Mulberry introduced the Soft Small Bayswater (which shared the same dimensions but the strap clipped to two D rings at the back,) and now the classic SBS has returned but with a slightly different make up.

This is an original SBS and is crafted from Mulberry's finest, original NVT, (a leather undoubtedly superior to the current Legacy version.) Self lined in suede with robust hardware & slightly longer strap drop, this design just ticks all the boxes.

Details -

A beautifully thick and hardy leather, (it smells delicious!) there are few very light fingernail scuffs and gentle burnishing which form an inherent feature of use and aging. These will continually develop and blend with use and a gradual deepening in tone and gentle patina will follow bringing the promise of an incredibly characterful finish with time and care.

Well shaped and upright, the top flap is slightly softened, (please note the light pressure indentations to the top flap, caused by the handle bases as is commonly found on this model,) all stitching is tight and inking (edge sealent) is in place with minor flex crackles to the back of the flap and inlets.

Two very small spots of stray inking can be noted on close inspection, to the front, LH & RH side handle base patches, as shown. Present from construction these are unnoticable in use.

Top handles are nicely firm, well shaped and stand completely upright with a smatter of darkened patina developing from being hand held.

The long, detachable shoulder strap excellent with an extremely light, linear sit impression over the first hole where the buckle has been set, (protective film in place on barrel.)

Hardware is excellent with very light friction rubbing to the end sides of the turnlock.

Clean, self lined suede interior with a small dark mark to the LH side of the flap and a vague pinkish smudge to the suede on the RH side of the base panel.

Top Handles are fixed with mid point drop of 9cm and long, detachable strap is adjustable (123cm - 138cm end to end) with a drop of 56cm to 63cm
