Hermés Bolide Rigide 35 in Brique Vache Liegee with Palladium Hardware

This is a 100% authentic Hermés Bolide Rigide 35 in Brique Vache Liegee with Palladium Hardware.

Please note the cadena (padlock) and hanging cloche are not present.

Emile-Maurice Hermès first designed the Hermès Bolide in 1923 for his wife. An Hermès lover’s must-have, it was the first bag to use a zipper closure and is still one of the most recognised and idolised designs. 

Crafted from a rich terracotta toned, premium Vache Liegee, this leather is noted for being the thickest and most durable of the Hermés hides, (pieces created in this material will hold their shape fabulously well.) Undoubtedly a superior hide, it delivers a multi dimensional quality that adds depth to the finish and is incredibly easy to maintain. First making its appearance in 2004 to replace Ardennes leather, it was the most expensive non-exotic leather available at Hermès during the time it was produced.

Firm, upright and perfectly shaped, this beautiful Bolide has recently received a full Hermés Spa treatment and though 16 years old, it's in an incredible condition for its age.

No visible wear, all stitching is in place, edging all excellent and the newly crafted shoulder strap is brand new with protective film in place on snaphooks.

Corners and curves have been reconditioned and are all now pristine with just the very slightest evidence of previous scuffing to the rolled piping trim on the upper edge of the base. Shown with the zoom in the Gallery above, this is almost invisible to the naked eye.

The main reason for the Condition Rating is due to the darkening to the top handles where they have absorbed natural skin oils from use. Though the differential in tone is much less noticable to the naked eye than the photos make it appear, this is not remediable and has been reflected in the price. Two tiny, restored scratches can be noted under magnification to the rear top handle's, inner RH side.

There is some dark colour transfer to the lower, rear of the bag, where it has rubbed on clothing. No textural change or wear, conversely it's more visible to the naked eye under close inspection. Completely impossible to capture on camera, however so minor it appears as the vaguest shadow. 

Slight dulling to the LH side's, silver palladium oval base plate, there are small areas of scratching / finish loss to the apex of the five base feet, (which appears as a goldy tone....the black is a reflection of the camera lens.) 

The interior is lined in soft, lambskin agneau displaying general use comprising of light fingernail scuffs, a diagonal blue pen mark to the RH side of the rear wall and a few darks marks to the pockets' bottom and around the base area.
