Louis Vuitton Brea GM in Amarante Monogram Vernis Calfskin - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic Louis Vuitton Brea GM in Amarante Vernis with Golden Brass Hardware.

A feminine reinterpretation of the doctor's bag shape, the Brea GM is so sadly no longer available from LV direct.

Impressively elegant and eye catching but also supremely practical, it's crafted from a subtly sparkly, glossy patent leather, (varnish calf) embossed with the classic monogram.

A rich, dark plum tone the colour is incredibly beautiful, managing to be subtle but vibrant at the same time. Glowing in the light....it really is quite breathtaking.

A semi structured silhouette with secure zipped top, there's acres of room inside so ideal for work or just to bring a little bit of glamour to every day.

Carry by hand or crook of the arm or attach the bi-part shoulder strap to wear at your side.

Details -

Cared for incredibly well, this Brea GM has been used and loved but is in an amazing condition throughout. Now classed as a Vintage style, it's timeless appeal never dates.

Perfectly shaped, (all photos taken of bag empty), the vernis is pristine with the exception of a tiny and extremely light, hairline surface scratch to the front of the bag on the upper RH, (so vague its almost invisible even if you know its there) and chip to the front RH sides' corner trim. Both shown in the close up photos above, the highly reflective nature of the vernis camouflages them so well that they are barely there, to the naked eye.

The remainder of the vernis is perfect, (any white flecks, etc are purely light reflections ....it's like photographing a mirror!).

The calfskin vachette is evenly honeyed, with only very slight darkening in places, (no patina), just one pale mark to the interior trim, (see location circled).

Top handles are well shaped, not softened and all 'red' (edging) is in place. Bags of this era have edging vs bonding which can appear dry, however this is their natural make-up.

The bi-part shoulder strap is excellent.

Hardware is excellent with the exception of the base feet which display scratching and silvery paling to the finish.

The interior is lined in clean, smooth, dark aubergine linen textile displaying light use. There is a full depth zipped pocket (protective film remains in place on zip pull), D ring and two generous slip pockets.

Please note the Date Code is not visible due to age. (Date Codes on these pieces are imprinted into the textile on the inner side of the slip pocket edge, however often lift with use, becoming impossible to read.)
